If you decide you could benefit from this kind of help, the best thing to do is research which mental health counselor you’d like to help you. There are psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, and therapists, and there are also holistic healers. Which one you use will depend on several factors including the price you want to pay, whether you need medication as well as counseling, and what level of help you feel comfortable with.

Some mental health professions require more training and education than others, so make sure you know what kind of qualifications the person you choose to see actually has.
